So you better get used to it. The successor of the Harry Potter franchise is for a lack of better words, "staking" its claim. According to The Hollywood Reporter, there have already been bids made to produce 3 more Stephenie Meyer books in the Twilight series.

The company has acquired rights to the next three novels in Stephenie Meyer's blockbuster vampire series and has hired "Twilight" scribe Melissa Rosenberg to pen scripts based on "New Moon" and "Eclipse," the second and third books, respectively.A fourth book, "Breaking Dawn," has not attached a writer.

The End of an Era

After 14 season's, Fox's sketch comedy show Madtv has been cancelled. According to Variety, the ratings have been dwindling in recent seasons, and they didn't receive a boost after the presidential election. SNL on the other hand experienced record highs during the presidential campaigns.

I can't really say this cancellation comes as a shock to me, because I haven't watched the show at all this season. I didn't like the new format or stage set up. It may have turned viewers off. Well either way it was a good run.

Madtv launched the careers of such actors as Nicole Sullivan, Orlando Jones, Aries Spears, and Artie Lang.

"Monopoly".....the movie?????

Just when you thought that Hollywood couldn't sink any lower, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that director Ridley Scott has been tapped to make a feature film out the popular board game.

That's right, a Monopoly movie.

Hollywood already seems virtually incapable of creating original films anymore, with all of the book, short story, graphic novel, comic book, and tv show adaptations. Now we have to put up with adaptations of board games.? Seriously? Get some originality Hollywood. Now The Hollywood Reporter insists that the movie will somehow "shape a narrative out of the iconic real estate game," but I am not buying it. And Ridley Scott, you should be ashamed of yourself. A sequel to Body of Lies sounds more intriguing than this. What's next, a Scrabble trilogy? Go to jail. Go directly to jail. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

The New Karate Kid is......

.......Jaden Smith! No, I'm serious its Jaden, sweet little Jaden. I don't know how I feel about him portraying a character similar to Daniel (Ralph Macchio) from the original. I mean he got picked on, and beat up. I don't want to see anyone do that to Jaden!

According to Variety, that's exactly whats going to happen. Jerry Weintraub, who produced the original 1984 film, has tapped Smith to play the lead in a the Karate Kid remake. Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment will co-produce the flick, and word on the street is that they may be filming in China. Jaden will play the trouble kid who gains confidence with the help of a mentor, and an unorthodox martial art.
